Hello all,

It's very nice for Blackberry Owners who have purchased their handset from Airtel that Airtel gives Unlock Codes for the Blackberry Phs purchased from them, for free. For this the interesed user has to just write an email to Airtel with the following details & they'll get the Unlock Code with in 5-7 working days.

1. IMEI No
2. Handset Model
3. PIN

if you wanna know the procedure to use the Unlock Code, here it is :

Options -> Advanced Options -> SIM Card -> Type MEPD (nothing will show up, dont worry, this is how it works) & then Type MEP2 -> Type in the Unlock Code and u r done.

Why have people bought from local service providers? Isn't it expensive to buy from them, rather than shops like The mobile store, Croma, Hotspot, Planet M who sell unlocked phones and also offer extended warranties?

Looking for MEP/Unlock codes?

Please search internet for mobile phone unlocking websites. You will come across a thousand websites who can do this. Choose which ever you like. Do look for price comparisons and the unlocking instructions.

Recheck the Model number- Network to which your phone is locked to and the IMEI number before placing an order. If you made any mistakes in these details these people will never give you a refund!!

One more thing, before placing an order ask them about the conditions for getting a full refund in the case of a code failure! Think and make a wise decision. I have personally bought the code for my BlackBerry Curve 8520 form unlockgenie.com. It is because they have good reviews on most of the mobile phone forums. It is preferable to get the codes for free. But the number of days to deliver the code is too long. This is suitable for those who can wait for few days and get the code from Airtel for free. You can also get the codes quickly from SimpleUnlocking.com within 5 hours but should pay a small sum.
