Thread: BB 9780 disconnecting from Wifi network

Hi there,

I am using a BB 9780 and have a concern with it connecting to the internet. It connects to the Wifi network but does not allow me to browse and says timed out when I try to open a website. I have to restart the phone and it connects for 15-20 minutes and disconnects again. Any help is appreciated.

Amit it seems that your wifi router got restarted after specific time & if this is the ADSL router then there must be some problem with your line.

There are two remedies you can try
1. When wifi got disconnected shut down wifi connection in Manage Network menu in BB & reconnect after 5-10 min. This way ip address will get reassign again.

2. In saved wifi network go to network having problem & un-check option Automatically obtain IP address, then below manually fill the ip address & other addresses as per your network setup, save the setting while exiting.
