I myself had installed the hybrid os for the first time2day...was scared a bit as not knowing the xact outcome....but believe me its a lot simple if u follow my steps and your Curve 8520 will operate at pretty fast speed!!

Time Required :Not more than 15-20minutes

What it consist of:
This build consists of: 5.0.0.1067/5.0.0.1079/5.0.0.1082/6.0.0.615/7.0.0.261
Platform:5.0.0.104
- Includes Half and Half 1079/1082 Java with ~80 7.0.0.261
- Supports all languages! (East Asian = v.1049/.1055) (no hindi)
- Extra backgrounds and sample music has been removed.
- All carrier garbage has been meticulously removed
- Includes Precision Zen 7 theme (v7.0)
- 151Mb of free memory space.
- Operates at speed you would never expect.

Memory, Battery, And Performance are all amazing, East Asian inputs and issues have been fixed.
If you have issues with service books go into Options>Advanced Options>Service Books and type ALT+SBEB then restore your backup again.


The first reboot will take a longer than normal. Battery life may not be optimal until the device settles (Testing via Meterberry: 3.6%/h average use) as it will be operating at peak performance.

How to do-it

Step 1: Download the OS below Link given and take a backup of your device through DM.

Step 2: Have you installed any previous os through the same pc you are about to use now? If No then directly go no next step.
If yes then first uninstall through add/remove programs then run cc cleaner to clean the registry and path.

Step 3: You need not do a wipe as the installer will do it. So now just connect your BB thru usb and let the installer do the job(it will install -run -wipe-load the os) have a glass of water or sumthing till then

Step 4: Now Restore using ur dm and voila you are done!!!! IMP: do not backup apps do a fresh install..

Download:JSL 8520 V7.

Okay during initial period you might notice that after a soft reset or after a full battery charge if u start browsing or do something which is power consuming...discharge rate is shot upto 40-50%/hour..so dnt worry at that time just leave your device locked or give a hard reset..it b back 2 normal..

After installing this OS,what OS's app I will be able to use. Can I use app compatible with os5 OR os 4.3 or something

yes im runnig all apps compatible wid os5..alsi im sure u can run apps which supp upto os4.3..but i guess almost all apps r updates to supp os 5..

Will it also work with 8530 Cdma?
Does the Hybrid has Documents 2 go, as heard many times that hybrids omit that?

Im sorry its striclty ONLY FOR GEMINI 8520!..u can check on dripther for 8530 hybrids ..they have 4 them too!
