carriers haven't yet defined a 3G plan for blackberry.. i think the question is on how to merge the blackberry internet plan and the 3G plan..
if users are already paying for blackberry plan, doesn't make sense to pay again for a 3G data plan..

airtel allows you to activate 3G and use it with no additional charges I believe (airtel might charge for video streaming on 3G etc.. not sure)
vodafone was allowing 3G for free for quite some now.. not sure what the situation is now with respect to vodafone..

you can activate 3G, by sending sms 3G to 121, but then airtel now activates something called zero rental plan and you will be charged.
need to wait till carriers come up with a 3G plan for blackberry

Hi. I have just been made to understand by Airtel customer care that the BlackBerry handset will NOT give 3G. Even though the "3G" logo is displayed the handset will not give the speeds and benefits of 3G. Apparently BlackBerry uses a 3G type that is technically not supported by Airtel or other networks in India. We will only get benefit of 3G when using it as a modem connected to a laptop.
So no use paying extra for 3G services if you use it only on the Blackberry device itself as you will only get speed equivalent to GPRS / EDGE.

    Hi,
I m a vodafone prepaid user. I got BIS @399 a month. Apart from tht a Rs 102 recharge for 3g in which I get 200MB of 3g usage for video streaming and internet via modem. browsing speed on my curve 3g is nothing more then edge and that's disappointing.
